Build your own Converter App using mit app inventor

Build your own Converter App using mit app inventor is it sounding well ? Yes its very interesting and very easy project which we can build easily. In my previous series of project in interfacing google sheets with mit app inventor, we found four consecutive post on that.

My first post was on that series was ” Send data to google sheet from mit app inventor “. Second post was ” Read data from google sheet using MIT APP INVENTOR “. Third post was ” Delete record from google sheet using mit app inventor “. And final post was “Update data to google sheet using MIT APP Inventor “.

How we Build your own Converter App using mit app inventor.

Now we changed our topic in new domain that is Build your own Converter App using mit app inventor. It is very handy apps to everyone. To build this app we will learn use of mathematical blocks in mit app inventor. That will help us to build any apps where mathematics involve.

Project Description :

This project is very conceptual and handy one. So making a project Build your own Converter App using mit app inventor, we need basic concept of android app making. And some little bit knowledge about mit app inventor mathematics blocks. To build our project we use

  • List picker
  • Math block
  • Logic
  • Procedures.

In this project you will learn that how we will convert of mass and distance from one unit to another. For that, first we have to select which parameter we want to convert. Is it mass or distance ? After selecting our desire parameter by pressing select unit button. Then we have to put the value which we going to convert. Now select the unit for conversion by pressing select unit button in bellow row. Finally, press the convert button. You will get your result instantly.

List picker

In this project list picker has very important role. Firstly, we set different list at list picker by clicking different button. When we press Mass button it set KG, POUND and OUNCE on it.

Secondly, when list picker got the selection then it convert that to text format.

Math Block

To build your own Converter App using mit app inventor, we have to use basic Math blocks. We now every unit has some relation between them. Which is readily available in internet too. So we have to use that relation with math multiplication block. For that we have to take two global variable for input con1 and for output con2.

Logic

Now you can see very simple logic we used to build our project. Firstly, when convert button press. We use AND logic. Where it check input list with output list. Secondly, when AND logic satisfied, it set the con1 variable with input text value. Finally, it call the apropiate procedure and display the result after calculation.

Procedures :

Procedures has to do the main task in our project. All the mathematical calculation has to done here for different sets. It set the calculated value at con2 variable. Finally, it set the final result at output text field.
