If we want to give some introduction to civil engineering and its prospect then we have to discuss from very beginning. From the concept of philosophy the important theory that is Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory told that the basic needs which are required for a human to live in this world are physiological need then safety need and this safety is provided by civil engineering in different ways.
This modern civilization is stand on the quality engineering and construction for satisfying our needs. Since ancient age the parameter for any developed country stands on their planning and construction to build their civilization.
To understand what civil engineering do?
You need to think about what you do in the first hour after you wake up on a morning.
You clean your teeth using the running water in your bathroom. Take a cup of tea or coffee. You travel to work on a finely constructed network of roads or on a train or underground system. You park your car. You might even walk through an underpass or over a bridge before finally settling at your destination. None of this would have been possible without civil engineering.
Civil engineers design and construct bridges, roads, railways, runway of airport, airport and tunnels. They design and construct tall structures and large buildings such as multi-storey building, car parks, train stations, and even the Olympic stadium, cricket stadium etc.

Without civil engineering we wouldn’t have a constant supply of clean water, or sustainable energy to help us save our planet. Without civil engineering the world we live in would be completely unidentifiable.
Since time immemorial, human beings have been engaged in building all kinds of edifices. From “huts” made of mud to “Taj Mahal”, we have definitely come a long way.
As civilizations matured, it simultaneously led to the development of bigger, better and different structures. From cave dwellings, human beings had moved on to construct houses, palaces, canals, dams, highways, and stadia. These kind of structures played a significant role in the development of human beings.
Some significant structures from the past include the Stonehenge in Britain, the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Roman Coliseum, the Great Wall of China and the magnificent Taj Mahal. Also worth mentioning here are buildings from the ancient cities of Chichen Itza, Machu Picchu and Petra. These are just but a mere glimpse of the examples set by one of the oldest branches of engineering, that is, civil engineering.
